Are you prepared for retirement and old age? While it may still be a long way off and there are usually a lot more urgent things to take care of, dealing with some of the requirements of old age, either for yourself or for someone you care about, a huge difference can be made by a few simple steps.
While saving for a pension and having good medical insurance are two of the most common steps, there is also the scope for long term care insurance, which may also be of great potential use in certain situations. This type of insurance covers the need for assistance in old age. Old age, as well as mental and physical illness can lead to many people needing assistance with such everyday tasks as eating, bathing and dressing. Simply looking after you can be too much for many people and when they are faced with this situation, assisted living and long term care can be an option.
Long-term care insurance can step in to help pay for the costs of such care. Do you think you may need such care? Will you be able to afford it if you do? Long-term care can last for many years and it is very expensive. Without the proper insurance, many people simply could not afford it. You may be planning to rely on Medicare or your own private health insurance policy. However, Medicare does not pay for custodial treatment of this kind. It is simply too expensive and you will therefore have to seek alternative living arrangements. Even private medical insurance will not foot the bill for long-term care.
If you think you will be very short of money by the time you need long term care you may qualify for Medicaid. Medicaid steps in to pay for medical care for the very poor. The good thing about Medicaid is that it will pay for long-term care. It is difficult to qualify for it though. You must be in the right wealth level and this is difficult to guarantee. The provisions of Medicaid are also liable to change so there?s no guarantee that just because long term care is provided for now, that it will be in the future. If you are in serious doubt as to your ability to qualify for Medicaid, then it is unwise to rely on it.
Long term care can make a huge difference to your quality of life and well being in old age so if you think it is something you would like to make use of, the sooner you look into insurance for it, the better.

Term Life Insurance Vs Permanent
by: Donald Lusan
Ever since the idea of term life insurance came to the mind of man term life insurance vs permanent has been the center of active and thought provoking debate. Term insurance is without question cheaper than permanent life insurance but when compared with the value built into the latter people have varying ideas as to which is best. What about the cash values and dividends you get from permanent policies? Do you just ignore these? How can cash values and dividends be used to offset cost? Questions worth answering aren't they?
The ever constant innovation of life insurance policies make it more and more difficult to come to a consensus. Term life insurance vs permanent will continue to provoke the thoughts of anyone considering a life insurance purchase. Because term is simplest I will discuss that one first then I will get to the complexities of permanent life insurance and it's varying alternatives.

Where To Find Cheap Health Insurance
by: Bob Hett
Health insurance costs are rising all the time. Many people feel they cannot afford health insurance. Others feel that they don?t need it because they are healthy and have never had any major medical problems. This is definitely faulty thinking on their part. As a matter of fact, you do need health insurance, and there are a lot of ways to get affordable health insurance for yourself or your family. Health insurance is protection against the possible health problems that could happen in the future, and you have absolutely no way of knowing what those might be.
For people who are low income, every state has a Medicaid program that they could possible qualify for. The requirements vary form state to state, but all it takes is a trip to your local Division of Family Services office to get an application. You might be surprised at the number of people who would actually qualify for this service that...

Short Term vs Long Term Marketing Efforts
by: S. Housley
Short Term Vs Long Term Marketing
In order to create consistent sales cycles and a positive growth trend businesses usually engage in both short and long term marketing efforts.
Short-term marketing efforts tend to cause sudden sales spikes which rarely last. These sharp sales increases are usually the result of a targeted marketing campaign or time limited offer. While short-term marketing produces sales, long-term marketing efforts must be mixed in to sustain sales.
Short Term Online Marketing
Mentions
Positive product mentions in forums, newsgroups or within trade organizations can result in a traffic or sales surge. Product endorsements and newsgroup conversations are difficult for marketers to control and time, so while product mentions in forums are short-term marketing, they lack the organized exposure necessary to maintain sales momentum.

Critical Illness Insurance And Life Insurance Cover For Better And For Worse.
by: Rachel Lane
There are three main types of insurance cover you can buy to protect yourself and your family: life insurance, private medical insurance and critical illness insurance. If you want your financial health to be completely bionic then you could choose all three types of insurance, but if your family finances are more restricted, it might be better to insure yourself with critical illness insurance and life insurance. Critical illness insurance should not be confused with private medical insurance or even income protection insurance and it?s important that you do a full evaluation of your needs before you pursue the different insurance options.
The purpose of critical illness cover (CIC) is to fill a gap that is left by traditional life insurance policies, which will only provide a pay-out on the death of the policy holder. CIC provides a tax free lump...

Hurricane Insurance Claims

Hurricane Insurance Claims
Many homeowners along the Gulf Coast have spent decades making saving up and making mortgage payments on their homes.
Unfortunately, hurricanes Rita and Katrina have wreaked havoc on the area and most of the homes in the area are either damaged or destroyed.
Most of these homeowners are now learning that their insurance claims are being rejected by their insurance companies ? some for unjust reasons.
As insurance companies such as State Farm, Nationwide and Allstate are attempt to send out personnel to hurricane affected areas, the expertise of some adjusters have come into question.
So far there have been hundreds of reports of inexperienced adjusters who have been too quick to reject claims.
This is causing unnecessary agony for homeowners who now are faced with an uncertain future.
Many homeowners have insurance policies that...

Buying Insurance
by: Jeff Lakie
Insurance is one of the most unpleasant purchases that we have to make - it takes its place amongst those few things we buy that we hope we will never actually have to use. Many people, in fact, use this hope to argue against purchasing insurance in the first place - and while the chances are that we might never need it, this is one of those times in life when it is better to be safe than sorry.
As the expense of daily life continually mount, it can be easier to see the non-immediate need for insurance as illusory. I'm not sick now, am I? My house is fine - it doesn't look like tornado weather out there today. That will never happen to me - I'm not wasting all my hard earned money protecting against something that might never happen! Those insurance companies don't need any more money.
Unfortunately, this confidence is misplaced, as even the most intellectual of scholars cannot predict which one of us...

Faxing with VoIP, Can It Be Done?
Faxing with VoIP, Can It Be Done?
by: Jason Christensen
Faxing with VoIP can be slightly different than the traditional Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). Not all VoIP providers offer Fax capabilities and some charge extra for this feature. Some VoIP adapters or ATA's as they are called allow fax capabilities by simply connecting your fax to the device. If your ATA supports fax capabilities you should not need a second line to send faxes. Beware that unusual...
