Vacation Travel Insurance Tips

 by: Peter Shannon

Travel insurance is an important but often overlooked part of your vacation. Whether you are traveling to a foreign country or to the next state you should consider travel insurance.

Some of the reasons to have insurance are to cover medical expenses, life insurance for your family, or trip insurance when something goes wrong.

If you have medical coverage, check with your insurer to find out the specifics regarding your planned destination.

You can buy medical coverage for the duration of your trip or for longer periods. Some travel insurance policies cover multiple trips of specific duration. Some will cover you for travel up to a year.

Planning a skiing or mountain climbing vacation? You may want to consider evacuation insurance. If you need to be rescued it is quite possible that the you will end up with a hefty bill to pay for the service.

If you are going on a cruise, taking an organized tour or just flying on an airplane you may want trip cancellation insurance. You or a family member may get sick at the last minute or your plans may change unexpectedly.

Many companies do not offer refunds and you could be out thousands of dollars. There are many things out of your control that can mess with your plans. Refunds are tough to get sometimes.

Other popular coverage is loss of baggage, baggage delay, travel delay, dental, 24 Hour Traveler Assistance, and accidental death.

If you are driving out of the country definitely check with your auto insurer. Purchase any extra coverage needed. You may want to ask about an international roadside assistance policy.

Auto breakdowns and accidents are bad enough at home but the problems are compounded abroad.

Check with your credit card company. You may have some coverage if you purchase your vacation with their card.

If you are traveling with a group you may be able to get coverage cheaper as a group rather than individually.

Sometimes you will pay more for less coverage if you buy it through a travel agent who makes a nice commission. This is not always the case but it's your money. Shop around for the best deal.

Life Insurance - Make Sure Your Family Is Cared For

 by: Jakob Jelling

No matter who you are or what you do for a living, you should make sure that you have some sort of life insurance policy.
However, this is even more the case if you are one of the only sources of income for your family.
In this case, you should keep in mind that your family will lose your income should you die prematurely - but with life insurance, they will still be taken care of afterward.
These are not situations that anybody likes to think about, of course.
However, it is always best to be prepared for the future.

There are two types of life insurance that can apply to most people.
The two policies are both term life insurance and permanent life insurance.
While ideally, everybody would be able to get permanent life insurance, that might not be the best choice for you due to the price of insurance.
Term life...

Hurricane Insurance Claims

Many homeowners along the Gulf Coast have spent decades making saving up and making mortgage payments on their homes.
Unfortunately, hurricanes Rita and Katrina have wreaked havoc on the area and most of the homes in the area are either damaged or destroyed.
Most of these homeowners are now learning that their insurance claims are being rejected by their insurance companies ? some for unjust reasons.

As insurance companies such as State Farm, Nationwide and Allstate are attempt to send out personnel to hurricane affected areas, the expertise of some adjusters have come into question.
So far there have been hundreds of reports of inexperienced adjusters who have been too quick to reject claims.
This is causing unnecessary agony for homeowners who now are faced with an uncertain future.

Many homeowners have insurance policies that...

Online Life Insurance

Are you considering taking out life insurance? If so, it?s a good idea to review what life insurance companies have to offer by searching for life insurance online.

Over the past few years the online life insurance market has become very buoyant. Most major life insurance companies are now represented online, and they have been joined by smaller life insurance companies as well as life companies who operate exclusively online. As the Internet is akin to a level playing field, small life insurance companies now have just as much chance of selling a life policy online as do larger insurance companies. This has created some intense competition between insurance companies for online customers, many life companies providing discounts and incentives to attract life customers to their policies. Consequently, you can now pick up online life insurance for as little as ?5 per month.

Travel Insurance ? Insurance For The Over 65's

Travel Insurance ? Insurance For The Over 65's

 by: Michael Challiner

According to a survey published by Mintel, one in three pets needs an unexpected visit to the vet each year. This means that you are more likely to claim on your pet insurance than on a home & contents policy or even your car insurance.

The word ?unexpected? is important here. If you are looking for pet insurance to provide cover for routine treatments such as vaccinations or worming, forget it ? policies that do that are as rare as hens' teeth! And you won't find cover for elective treatments, such as neutering, either. This means that the most common reasons for visiting the vet are uninsurable.

But don't forget it's those unexpected visits that tend to be the expensive ones! Developments in animal care mean that more conditions can be effectively treated and costs of emergency care can be horrendous. A cat that argues with a car could cost ?700, even more, to treat....

Gold Heading to $1,000 an Ounce: 13 Reasons Why This Can Happen

 by: Stefan Pool

Many people are not aware that Gold peaked at over $850 an ounce in the 1980's. It has been in a bear (depressed market) for 20 years since but Gold has been marching higher for three and a half years, even in the absence of major inflation. Now, as investors rush to gold as a hedge, you can expect far greater increases. $1,000 an ounce for Gold would not seem unreasonable for the...

Finish the Job: a Lesson On Discipline

Finish the Job: a Lesson On Discipline

 by: Cameron Elliott

Growing up, my two main chores were to take the recycling out to the curb every Sunday night, and helping with the yard work. There was grass to mow, hedges and trees to trim, plants to water, seeds to plant in our small garden.

Most importantly, trimming that hedge, pruning that tree, resulted in branches that needed to be taken care of. This task was often delegated to me. I'd hack large branches...
